Back to University

Its that time of the year again that i am returning to university after the break when i wihdrew from my previous course back in February and im returning to Study (Bsc) Multimedia Technology and i am determined to make a go of it this time and work very hard.
I want to be successful in the future and gaining a good degree will start me off i worked hard to get this far and i dont intend on throwing it all away.

At the end of my first year i felt i had learned alot and met some good people from my previous course i originally started university on and was pleased to get through the first year with some good marks.

However the second year got a little bit complicated and i felt that at that time i was on the wrong course doing the wrong things, i tried to continue and do my best in the modules in first semester but still it didnt feel that i was suited to that course, so i took up the decision to withdraw from my course with the intention of a return in september 2010 transferred to Multimedia and ready to roll.

When i return to enrol i will also be dropping down to the freshers fair on friday and have a look at joining a society or two especially gaining membership of the Photography society and going on the field trips as photography is the main field i am intersted in a career in when i have graduated and the experience and meeting new people in the society will give me fresh ideas and help build portfolio aswell.

I am looking forward to returning and meeting new classmates.

The summer 2010

I havent updated my blog in a while as ive been preparing for my return to uni in a couple of weeks and working to save money for a DSLR hopefully i will be able to purchase one as soon as possible.

Im looking forward to returning to university and to study multimedia, i have also joined the Leeds met photography society which will help me meet new people with the same interests aswell as building my portfolio as they do field trips every month to different places so that would be good to get out and enjoy what i love doing best.. taking photos.

Last sunday i also went to Filey(East Yorkshire) and took a few photos of the area, couldnt go for a walk on the brigg though because the tide came in too early.

Anyhow i am gonna be updating my blog more often now i will return to uni on my progress on modules and thoughts.

National Media Museum Photos

I went to the Media museum and got some photos of the old equipment used in tv and film, i liked the exhibition aswell as i got some inspiration of photos i can take for the competition which ends september 1st.

Drawings and Stuff

Ive recently done some more drawing just some cartooning and random doodles and character designs for some digital illustrations ive made in photoshop.
Below are a few of the doodles ive done and will upload more in my next blog.

Im going to the National Media museum in bradford on tuesday for my research into photography and will be taking a sketchbook to do some sketches of the old photography equipment and stuff.

Ive also been looking throughout my numerous advanced photoshop mags and ive decided im gonna have a go at few tutorials and upload my results.

Research into Photography

Recently a university tutor gave me an idea of doing a blog researching a photographer that has inspired me with my work. So i am researching a couple of landscape and nature photographers and will be visiting the National Media Museum of Film, Photography and Television in Bradford next tuesday(20/07/2010) to have a good insight into some works.

Also i am entering a We English-Our Yorkshire Photography Competition run by the museum and Photographer Simon Roberts who focuses on capturing Yorkshire Leisure time and its pretty much what i look forward to entering and gives an opportunity to get my work out there and viewed by the Public.

Ive got an idea to travel to Yorkshire sculture park and get some photos taken of the art work on show there.

I also went to Thorpe Park theme park on monday which i enjoyed very much was a great thrillseeking day =].

Also spain won the world cup on sunday and ive had some ideas for a poster referring to that win. I have also found some old drawings of a cartoon i was gonna create in flash at college and may end up starting that after all.

Wedding Photography

I completed my first wedding photo shoot on the 12th June 2010 and felt it went better than I wanted it to and cant wait to complete more jobs in future.I have been called upon to do some portrait photography in future so building my portfolio is going well, I will be looking forward to that.Apart from Red eye which is a common problem in some photography it is nothing that cant be sorted easily in Photoshop.I am very happy with the photos ive got and completed, some i deleted because of blurred view but overall i am pleased.

Return to Blogging

I have returned to blogging as I haven’t posted in a while so i thought id include what i have been up to recently, i have visited both Otley which is just outside Leeds and also i went to Scarborough, North Yorkshire i am a regular visitor to the north Yorkshire town. I have also completed my first wedding photo shoot for my cousin in which he asked me to provide my photography services so i will make a separate blog post on that with a few photos after the editing stage is complete.
